Spring marks the time of new beginnings. It is also the season for IT and Software Asset Management conferences that create opportunities for learning and improving our SAM programs.
There are three upcoming conferences that I would like to highlight. The first, which is the largest IT Asset Management (ITAM) gathering of industry professionals, is IAITAM’s ACE (Annual Conference and Exhibition). This is hosted and run by IAITAM (International Association of IT Asset Managers) and will take place on May 2-4 at the M Resort in Henderson, Nevada. This conference features numerous sessions presented by end-users and vendors, an Exhibit Hall, inspirational keynote speakers and hospitality gatherings. It is a great venue for networking with peers and industry leaders. I have been attending this conference for 12 years and have been very pleased with the educational content, networking opportunities and long-lasting business relationships that are developed. Immediately following the IAITAM ACE is ServiceNow’s Knowledge17 annual user conference. This is a huge gathering of end-users and industry leaders focusing on IT Service Management, however there are quite a few SAM tools providers that exhibit due to the integration requirements of ITSM and ITAM. It is jam-packed with session content, keynotes, workshops, exhibitors and evening networking events. This conference will take place on May 7-11 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. For more details, click on the following link:
Coming to the U.S. for the first time is SAMS USA sponsored by we.CONECT who hosts this same conference in Europe each year. We.CONECT is bringing this event to Boston to the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor on June 26-27. SAMS USA combines distinguished expert keynotes and interactive round tables, one-on-one discussions, networking sessions and vendor-free audit debates. This conference prides itself on being very focused on the end-user community and the mega vendors and auditors are not invited to participate. The line-up of speakers from leading companies is very impressive. For more information, click on this link:
At the IAITAM conference, Siwel will be presenting three sessions and exhibiting, so if you are planning to attend, please stop by to introduce yourself!
